Essex Meadows Welcome Garden

The residents of the Essex Meadows residential community initiated the design process of a new welcome garden at their building’s public entrance. Residents advocated for all-season interest and a restful space. A new wood rail fence and grove of flowering dogwood trees define a protective but transparent boundary to the circular garden. Drifts of flowering shrubs and perennials create an ever-changing, all-season tapestry of classic and recognizable garden plants. Ergonomic benches are positioned directly beside flower beds, providing residents with a comfortable place to sit within a sensory garden environment.
